We were told that we needed to get vaccines and wear a mask during the pandemic to alleviate the spread of disease. We were threatened with job loss if we didn't comply. It was in the interest of public health.

Today, city governments allow people to camp out on the sidewalk in close proximity to each other and crap and urinate right on the street.

Some of the diseases that are transmitted by this lack of cleanliness make COVID look like a bad cold. Hepatitis A and Cholera come to mind.

Shouldn't the cities start enforcing the laws that are already on the books regarding allowing people to set up camp on city sidewalks?
