@PovialJunk You can draw lines and lay borders wherever you please and enumerate as many subtle distinctions as you like but you'll be missing out on a lot of good conversations
@elliotismz Marx temporarily breaks character part way thru the gotha programs otherwise serious materialism to say that, actually, child labor is awesome and *should be done* (moral statement) /s (& I hope ur sarcastic too lest u falsify)
@FNazis87944@JonnyPeltz What, so your whole shtick is just that you hate women and blame them for all racism because it allowed you to be a misogynist, participate in chauvinist oppression without contradicting your "values", & ignore actual racism?
@hankfrackett@JonnyPeltz Ah bro sorry I know you're too busy jerking yourself off to whatever tedious male lead Nolan has cast to play the same role over and over again to be able to read anything that doesn't glorify Nolan and immediately make you cum all over yourself, I just wish youd made that clear
@hankfrackett@JonnyPeltz Is there a difference between "singling out" & discussing"? Because she mentions by name + discusses nearly every prominent cast member to make her argument. At this point are you just afraid that if you actually read her essay you'll be embarrassed by how wrong you are about it?
@hankfrackett@JonnyPeltz Did you read that entire paragraph? Because again her issue isnt the "casting" (ie actors chosen for certain roles in case that term is unfamiliar to you) but that the actors are underserved by their roles as written (which you basically admit since you cant make the pt you want)
@hankfrackett@JonnyPeltz Yeah b/c it makes sense to like the actors in a film despite disliking that they were cast in the first place. Nevertheless, your inability to make basic inferences doesnt change the fact that Wilson has no special dislike for the casting of actors whose acting she doesnt dislike
@edebiriscinema Wilson is not saying sex scenes are necessary for understanding the character. She is pointing out that the absence of such contradictory aspects is emblematic of a general flattening of character across Nolan's entire film, so that there are no characters to understand.
