Farallones Field Notes: Harbor seals come ashore to rest, warm up, & from March-June, females give birth & nurse their young. See a seal pup on the beach? Mom could be feeding nearby. Love seals from afar (300 ft.) & keep pets on-leash.

Happy World Bee Day!
Here at Fort Ross, Honey bees find the coast climate too cool, but bumble bees, Bombus voznesenskii, thrive! They were named for Russian scientist I. Voznesenskii who visited Fort Ross in the 1800s.
