I happened to be in a friend's city and I dropped him a note to chat and we hung out and talked for 2 hours. We haven't talked in person for like 5 years and it was rad to catch up. So in 2022, if there's people you haven't reached out to, why not take a chance and reach out?
The Biden administration has played an endless shell game to deflect from policy changes. The only reasonable conclusion is that the actual policy, the wholesale slaughter of civilians in Palestine, is the administration's goal.
The most influential “Groups” in the 2024 intraparty struggles—AIPAC, DMFI, crypto PACs, Uber—hold unpopular views yet go unmentioned. Biden’s 2020 win came amid historic left and Black protests (w/ unpopular slogans!). Blaming the left alone while ignoring key facts is lazy, trite, and boring.
"Mass deportations," as MAGA is salivating for, will never happen! It is not feasible: Trump knows it; Homan knows it! But focusing on the "mass" part is wrong.
Trump will ramp up deportations, no questions about it and they will constantly boast about it.
So they will need numbers and the easy pickings are not going to be gang members and/or "criminals". They will focus on the 1.5+ million of ppl who are subject to unexpected orders of removal, the vast majority of whom are people without any criminal records, long residences, and family ties. Losing sight of the plight of the actual human beings who will be the victims of the political posturing appears to be the norm now and this is just devastating.
I've about had it listening to Pete Buttigieg win some argument or make some great point on cable news or some pompous panel.
He's been a bad DOT secretary for Milwaukee. His dept. approved an unnecessary highway expansion, didn't fund BRT, no grant for 175, more of the same.
@MichaelJStern1 This all happened under Biden, Trump isn't even president yet. Biden could have ended this all in January if he wanted and maybe Harris could have won. He decided to support Netanyahu even as it cost him political support at home. If someone is to blame, it's Biden.
@ettingermentum Zoning reform is the perfect Dem consultant issue because most of it is local and the Feds can't change local zoning codes. So you're just calling on local officials to do something without having to do it yourself.
The effect of this was that Trump won voters who wanted a less active role abroad by 36 points. Many of those people might just be Rs who moved their stances to match his, but they undoubtedly include a lot of former Dems who never asked for the Biden doctrine.
