@joachimnicolas Well... not quite. There's still the electric traction motors and gearboxes to factor in. I don't know what they weigh, but it must be less than the diesel/hydraulic equivalent. Bottom line is that battery-electric is heavier. It's a compromise.
@joachimnicolas I'm really glad you asked that question! A Class 166 unit lugs round about 3.5 tonnes of diesel engines plus 2 tonnes of hydraulic transmission. Incidentally only half the batteries were in use for the trial.
ORR figures show Avonmouth, Bedminster, Bridgwater, Clifton Down, Gloucester, Lawrence Hill, Montpelier, Parson Street, Redland, Sea Mills, Shirehampton, Stapleton Road, Weston Milton and Worle had highest ever passenger numbers last year

We're sure it's lovely! Can't think why anyone would drive to Bath from Bristol though, when it's 12 mins by train... #bristolrail https://t.co/vp5ZCre8s5
We're pleased to see the Wiltshire Rail Strategic Study recommends new stations at Devizes and Corsham (on our Plan for Rail!) and better services through Melksham! https://t.co/DJp6i6gvBX #bristolrail
