The Aero economy is designed just like the @ethereum economy.
Node operators provide a service—validating and ensuring the network stays secure & decentralized.
AERO stakers also provide a service—incentivizing the best LPs to ensure the liquidity network stays deep & efficient.
Node operators are compensated by transaction fees & block rewards.
AERO stakers are compensated by transaction fees & protocol incentives.
@Ethereum has minimum viable issuance to ensure validators are properly incentivized to keep the network propagating & secure.
@aeroxyz has minimum viable emissions to ensure LPs are properly incentivized to keep the liquidity network efficient and productive.
Aero is quite literally built from the same framework & principles as @ethereum.
And just like Ethereum, Aero is built to win 🛫
bit of lore: when as a bit of an experiment we started veDAO in Jan 2022 and raised $2B+ in a couple of days to get a chunk of Solidly's veNFT value, devs on Fantom, Solidly's home blockchain, were pissed. They saw us as being set to get something they believed they'd been promised. Who were these unknowns who were somehow taking up the market?
Fantom devs waged total war. they spun up all these wild theories about how we were mercenaries sent to plunder Fantom and take everything we'd earned back to Ethereum. We had mystery whale backers, they said. They actually called us colonizers. Colonizers! they spun up a rival org called 0xDAO to try to destroy us. they sought all sorts of angles to try to malign and ridicule us on the way. it was kind of mystifying, all the hate we got, even as we did everything the right way. as someone who'd been a builder for all of like five days and had virtually no public face, i was totally unprepared.
what happened in the next three months would fill a few books but needless to say, we're still here. veDAO spawned Velodrome, which spawned Aerodrome and now Aero
and almost half a decade later, we're finally going to do it
we brought the bag back to Ethereum
