At a moment when journalism is more important than ever, the Washington Post's management has chosen to prioritize profit over holding the powerful accountable.
It is shameful that the billionaire owner of such a storied publication has hollowed out its newsroom as U.S. democracy faces historic challenges and the world confronts several major crises.

please do not read @latimes today. i'm on strike with my co-workers today @latguild. absolutely furious that our newspaper thinks a catastrophic round of layoffs is in order and refuses to even do the humane thing and first offer buy outs.

🚨 The Washington Post Guild has reached a tentative agreement with The Washington Post after 18 months of contract negotiations.
This deal is the best contract Washington Post employees have seen in 50 years.
There are 42 days until our contract expires. Fun fact: Our salaries are way behind industry standard and the salaries at our sister sites at GMG. Looking forward to presenting our economic demands at bargaining!
Our bosses @washingtonpost are still denying us a fair deal.
Your help during our 24-hour strike was invaluable. Now we’re asking you to turn up the pressure again.
