Omar* 23y-o, is among the 95 survivors recovering onboard #OceanViking. After almost 2years in Tripoli, he attempted to flee #Libya with a friend. Shortly before our team arrived, his friend & 3 other people fell overboard & couldn't be retrieved. Omar* recalls this tragic event.

The Italian authorities have finally assigned Taranto as a Place of Safety for the 459 survivors on #OceanViking. After 10 rescues, 8 days of wait, overwhelming medical conditions, extreme living conditions onboard; the right of the survivors to disembark will be soon respected.
