The main question is whether Mamadou Sangare can reproduce his Ligue 1 numbers in the Premier League. Rather than treating this as advice, let's make a calculated prediction.

Brentford are one of the most vertical teams in the Premier League. They lead the league in the proportion of forward passes, play very few long possession sequences, and look to attack immediately after regaining possession. That creates more opportunities for FPL recoveries following an initial duel win.

What's encouraging is that Sangare produced elite recovery numbers in a Lens side that preferred a much more controlled build-up. Under Pierre Sage, Lens progressed through combinations rather than forcing the first progressive pass within 5-10 seconds of a regain.

Brentford also record over 400 more defensive touches from set pieces, defend far more transition situations, and are involved in significantly more aerial duels during open play. On top of that, Sangare is an extremely front-footed midfielder who constantly looks to be first to loose balls. That profile should translate well, both for traditional defensive actions and for positional recoveries.

There's a strong tactical case that his DEFCON numbers are sustainable. And if I'm wrong, this paragraph never existed.
