@MicroBerto This will be the 4th summer taking my 7 y.o. out for 18 multiple times per week. 4 y.o. starts this year. Best time of their lives. Ice cream after. I golf 50 rounds a year.
Skill issue.
I was shopping for a new microphone this morning and had a moment: I didn't even look at Amazon reviews. I went straight to Wirecutter's recommendation.
That's wild when I think about it. The entire 2010s was built on this promise of democratized information. Crowdsourced reviews. Wisdom of the crowds. Data-driven everything. We were supposed to route around traditional gatekeepers and let the people decide.
Turns out all of it is gamed now. Amazon reviews are mostly bot farms and incentivized 5-stars. The FTC just sent warning letters to 10 companies in December about fake reviews. Bot traffic crossed 51% of all web traffic in 2024 and hasn't looked back. It's only getting worse with AI-generated content and AI agents everywhere.
So I'm back to expert curation. Wirecutter. Consumer Reports. Specialist forums where real humans who actually know stuff talk to each other. The exact model we thought we were disrupting.
The irony: the democratized system became easier to manipulate than the old gatekeepers ever were.
@mandelbrought Unless have a process to buy it back lower
Agree long-term HODLing is far easier/less stressful—that's certainly what I do
Our process lets subs trade around a core if that's their style. Signal says a short-term consolidation or retrace is likely
Big picture: Dollar short setup; silver ripping
•CRYPTO: Ripping but reversal signals in play here. Good spot for some profit-taking
•BONDS: Still bifurcated. Investment grade/junk ripping, US treasuries lagging
•EQUITIES: Reversal signals still in play, but more likely to indicate consolidation than major turning point. Look for strong names to float back to optimal entry levels, like MTUM
•COMMODITIES: Silver went parabolic since our buy signal, gold and gold miners not far off.
•CURRENCIES: Dollar short probably the best setup going into next week (aka long UDN)
I want you to get the word out there that we back down
2-6w Hurst has been decent at flagging overcooked runs the last 2y.
TBD if this is another Dec '23

AI is not some boogeyman coming to steal everyone’s livelihood in the night.
It’s a bicycle.
There will always be world class cyclists, but if you get fired because you prefer jogging, that’s on nobody but you.
This continues to be an exactly half correct take.
“AI will not replace you. A person using AI will.”
The end of this reads like you ought to become something AI can’t replicate. Which is great advice as long as you don’t shun leveraging AI to achieve it
