to be "always" interested in something is to be neglect something else. that's how attention works.

@Obliquities i think we're understanding that response as "sometimes yes, sometimes no" quite differently.

do i want to be in a relationship where the other person is always interested in my lived experience above and beyond their own lived experience? no, that's unhealthy.
