Its a GREAT day today at @esa ESOC @esaoperations with the #GENESIS workshop. The first of its kind to fly all 4 Geodetic Techniques on one mission! Proud to be here with all the experts in the respective fields @IGSorg IDS IVS ILRS and IERS!
🚀We are venturing towards putting a spacecraft into orbit around Mars using a technique that engineers have studied for over half a century but never dared to attempt...
This technique is called 'aerocapture'.
Mars is surrounded by an atmosphere, so what if we flew a spacecraft straight through it, making use of atmospheric drag rather than fuel to slow it down? 🤔

Absolutely thrilled to acknowledge the outstanding work of the Navigation Support Office at @esa@esaoperations in crafting high-precision orbits for GPS III🛰️ propelling the entire space navigation realm forward. 🚀👏 #SpaceExploration#ESAExcellence https://t.co/WE6P7bzOTj
Thank you to everyone who attended our 6th stop of the #TourdelIGS on the Galileo Constellation 💫 In case you missed it, presentations and videos are now available on our YouTube and website! https://t.co/IbKojxMysS #GNSS4impact#Galileo
Simply playing #Legos with my son I found out many don't know this way of stacking two pieces.
I felt compelled to share this mind-blowing technique and wonder whether it is legal. 😁 @LEGO_Group@LEGOIdeas
