There are incredible landscapes at Predator Ridge - Ridge Course. Moving up & down a mountain + through various natural valleys between mountains provides great visuals. There are incredible tee placements, but it lacks steam at the start and end. Generally ranked too high IMO
I am lucky to have played many golf courses since the first time I played Capilano Golf almost 20 years ago. 20 years later, and after another visit, it's easy for me to say it is my favourite golf course on this earth. And the margin between it and the next is not small.
Some golf courses need to be seen to appreciate their greatness. The Macan @MDGC1922 is one of them. For me, it's a top 10 routing in Canada. It has all the elements of a great club & great golf course. Astonishingly, it's sub-100 acres. Impressed with every part of Marine Drive.
With everyone chasing what's new & shiny, I'm loving every minute experiencing the OG's. @FairmontWhistlr was an incredible mountain golf experience with a fantastic routing, awesome greens, and, of course, incredible views that included 12 ๐ป's. Favourite round this year.
Les Furber won't get the credit due for designing a great golf course on a very difficult property, but @NorthlandsGC is fun, in great shape, and amazingly pretty. And that's great to me.
One of Canada's great short holes is hidden at @lakestgeorge My first visit was a great one. And this little, menacing par-3 with its volcano style, heavily contoured green was worth it alone. I wish I took more photos of this beauty.
Played @PipersHeath last week. I quite like it and what Graham Cooke created, but $100 + taxes to play at 4:00 pm walking with sunset at 7:20 is crazy. $125+ for a regional course reg rate is steep. The cost of golf in the Greater Toronto Area is just insane ๐คฏ #supplydemandedout
One of my favourite places to play in #Ontario or even #Canada. A special @TomMcBroom golf course that flies under the radar, which makes it even better. It was great to be back after almost 15 years, and I hope it's much less until next time @GolfWildfire
On a very rainy, grey, dark day, @IslandGolfClub was amazing. A unique links layout that isn't just out and back. It has large dunes and wide playing corridors along with great green settings and great links turf #MustPlayYouCanPlay
An incredible Colt links golf course beautifully restored by @cdpgolf1 lives @Royaldublin1 Meticulously maintained, with amazing greens, perfect bunkers, wonderful movement and sightlines. These rumpled fairways are challenged by a few in the Dublin area, but none outshine RDGC.
First round in ๐ฎ๐ช in the books. The back nine @ArklowGolfLinks is the better nine. A few changes and it could be stellar. The greens are great throughout. Fun day on a properly baked out golf course.
The Grand Parcours at Golf Saint Germain has a fantastic set of par-3s and 116 strategically placed bunkers to keep golfers on their toes. Like much of the golf in France, it is understated and wonderful, apart from the sheer number of bunkers, of course.
Truly one of the special landscapes in all of golf. Golf de Fontainebleau in France is an incredible golf course being made even better by @cdpgolf1 A varied routing with stunning movement and vibrant textures.
Extremely fortunate to visit a one-of-a-kind golf course for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It gets less than 20 rounds a year and I can't believe I'm one of them. An incredible experience that I will not soon forget. Thank you sincerely for the invite ๐
The area surrounding Paris has incredible golf that is both private and accessible during certain parts of the year. Chantilly is one of the most regal feeling courses I've visited, and one of the best flat land layouts in the world #MustPlayYouCanPlay
The second course on my France trip was Grand Saint-Emilion Golf Club. A phenomenal, minimal Tom Doak course that is sadly overlooked when in the Bordeaux wine region #MustPlayYouCanPlay
On the heels of another mental reset trip to Ireland, I'm thinking back to my last trip to France. @cabotbordeaux Les Vignes was the first stop, and a beautiful heathlands type golf course awaited. The back nine, especially, was great #MustPlayYouCanPlay
