@robkhenderson Most troubling for me is my children can’t play in the park without some blissed out weirdo blubbering to themselves and scaring my kids. When did public intoxication become okay? When did we stop caring about children?
@abcampbell A lot of good ideas, yet I would reconsider the flat summary of the political climate in Taiwan. Where the DPP was long the separatist party, the CCP has been highly effective at propagandizing (after all, the stakes are TSMC) to the point where it now aligns most strongly with
"Hatred arises from the belief that your life will be better if the target of your hatred no longer exists. Hatred is worse than anger, in that it can result in negative-sum outcomes, where both sides suffer losses just to hurt each other." https://t.co/1WTnLk45eN
New Dads,
Your mission, should you choose
to accept…
This story starts out sad,
but may have a happy ending.
The sad part:
Your kids have less opportunity to PLAY than you did.
Schools have steadily been cutting gym class, McD’s and Chic-Fil-A have steadily been cutting playzones, and public parks have steadily been getting less safe. (Real story: I found a dude by himself sharpening a big knife in the KIDS playground recently. Cops took him away. But zero punishment.)
Meanwhile, fake life and fake food companies are marketing and selling more than ever to your kids.
But here’s the potentially happy ending…
Your mission, should you choose to accept, is to be MORE ACTIVE with your kids than previous generations had to!
In this story, you can’t count on other adults to make your kids happy and healthy.
You’re the superhero.
You’re the… SuperDad.
May you have the most fun of your life.
