An excellent way to end the week securing a big week of profit overall and a strong start here about half way through June 🔥

Happy with most of the reads here. Taj and Mabrey were very strong ones, sweat free. Webb ends with 7 hits, I knew he would have a very long leash here and that came to fruition. Got some luck on our side with Grayson exiting early. He was pulled with 0 ER in 3rd inning, bullpen came in and almost blew it but we escaped!

Derrick White faces off against the 76ers, this is a very favorable matchup for guards.

With Joel Embiid playing and starting to get more minutes, opposing guards have gotten excellent pull-up opportunities with him in a deep drop coverage. Even when Drummond or Bona are in for PHI, they still play in drop coverage.

This type of defense leads to guards having open shots off of on-ball screens along with the ability to get downhill easily to get the rim. 76ers defense as a whole has also been brutal, they've allowed 123.8 ppg (6th most) and rank 25th in DEF rating.

So far this season the 76ers have allowed 25.0 pull-up FG attempts per game which ranks 6th most in the NBA. Watching the tape of the season opener between these 2 teams, Derrick got a ton of open shots with Embiid being in a lazy drop coverage (see attached images).

The numbers tell that story too, Derrick led the Celtics with 20 FG attempts and 13 3-PT attempts vs PHI. A combined 27 FG+FT attempts in this matchup is elite volume for a 20.5 pts line, he just shot a poor 35% on FG's yet still had 25 pts.

Along with White, other guards have had success in this matchup: LaMelo 27 pts, Sexton 21 pts, Bane 24 pts, all in good volume and efficiency.

76ers have given up the 3rd most possessions, 2nd most pts and 3rd highest pts/possession to the pick & roll ball handler this season. That's great for White who is now the primary ball handler with Tatum hurt, he leads the team in frequency and possessions as the PnR ball handler. Derrick will also get spot up opportunities, lead the team in that's category too.

We're getting a great buy low spot as well considering he's under in 4 straight and 4/5 this year. That has nothing to do with the usage, White has taken 21.2 FG+FT attempts per game with a 24.9 USG.

Instead he is just shooting well below expected at 31.1% FG's and 25% on 3's. For reference, he's been 44-46% FG and 38-40% 3's last 3 years. We should be expecting positive shooting regression, a great spot for that tonight vs 76ers drop coverage.

White is playing mid-upper 30's minutes in competitive games. This one has a close 1.5 point spread.
