Kendrick is simply not outside enough to be the top dog in hiphop
That distant mysterious shit is very 90s… we’re not in that era anymore
And to top it off, musically he just doesn’t have the range to satisfy the masses
The reason people posture as being anti-Drake is very simple: Drake is popular, and people think that liking popular things makes them “unintelligent”. The idea that someone can enjoy both Drake and Shakespeare does not compute for this crowd
@yamufc_@25mahfuz Completely undeserved however. Gerrard was locked on to win PFA that season and United knew it; everybody knows this was a "legacy" award, nothing more. I remember the narrative they played out in the media that year.
These are the same people who think you are a terrorist for simply supporting Palestine meanwhile they want you to give benefit of the doubt to the pedophile capitalist elite
This whole Maccabi Tel Aviv - Aston Villa issue should be a case study in the manipulative use of allegations of antisemitism.
It turns out the decision to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv fans stemmed from intelligence shared by the European Policing Network to Westmidlands Police regarding the danger posed by Maccabi Tel Aviv fans. It is for this reason that there was a 'high risk' designation because of violent incidents that had occurred elsewhere in Europe perpetrated by Maccabi Tel Aviv fans.
Our Home Secretary was made aware of this ban last week. So, the government has had a whole week to prepare a comprehensive and sensible statement / position regarding the ban. Instead, our political leaders have consciously and deliberately chosen to further a malicious narrative, claiming falsely that this is a case of antisemitism; that Jews in the UK are not safe and cannot be adequately protected if they attend football matches.
All of this is in furtherance of a narrative that pro-Palestine activity is somehow an imminent and serious threat to Jewish communities and the very future of Jewish life in the United Kingdom. This, in turn, is also furthering islamophobic, anti-Arab, and anti-Palestinian racism and dehumanising narratives about Palestinians and their supporters.
What a complete mess this has become all because our government has no spine and seeks to exploit the sense of insecurity and vulnerability of Jews as a convenient scapegoat.
1. Israelis have families, but Palestinians apparently don't.
2. Israelis are named as Israelis, but Palestinians are just "people".
3. It's apparently a conflict, not an occupation, siege or genocide.
4. Israeli soldiers enforcing a murderous siege on Gaza are apparently hostages, not prisoners of war.
5. Bothsidesing the perpetrators and victims of a genocide.
You are toxic, Mr. Obama, one of the greatest disappointments of our generation.
Congratulations to @metpoliceuk on setting a new record for the most number of arrests from a single protest today. Fabulous work protecting Londoners from the dangers of cardboard signs with words the government dislikes on them.
Special thanks must go to everyone who was robbed, burgled or assaulted today in London: hopefully you agree your sacrifice was worth it.
Muslims were the ones who defended and protected you
It was the ottomans who saved you from Spain
It was the Palestinians who gave you refuge during the lolocaust
It was a Muslim caliph who allowed Jews back in Jerusalem after conquering it from the Christians who had banned Jews from entering for 500 years
Meanwhile the christians of the east carried out pogroms and the christians of the west expelled you from their lands
And you repay us by spilling our blood
Allah is sufficient for us against those who harm us
All this talk about Drake's UK accent is crazy to me.
Y'all need to travel more. It's only in the U.S.—where cultural ignorance is still worn like a badge-that this kind of mixing gets frowned upon or questioned.
Cultures mix naturally in Canada, the UK, and so many other places. Accents, slang, sounds- Jamaican, African, Caribbean, South Asian -are all part of daily life and growing up. That's not "appropriation," it's integration. People grow up immersed in each other's cultures side by side. It's how the world works when racism doesn't run the show. Mimicking accents is a rite of passage in most places, but in the U.S, where racism has narrowed you’ll whole view and robbed you of cultural integration.
Drake knows this—this is how he grew up. That's why he flows in patois, uses UK slang, and rides Afrobeat rhythms—it's not forced; it's familiarity. It's his environment. Toronto is a global city. This is what authenticity looks like when it's not filtered through the narrow lens of American culture war-Drake's cultural awareness is exactly why he's embraced worldwide.
Tonight, watch the global stage. Artists from every corner of the world will perform
-crowds singing in Jamaican accents, verses riding Afro rhythms, voices flipping between dialects-effortlessly. Because the rest of the rap and the music world live with this awareness.
Y'all are behind the times, as always.
Go travel. You are not exposing Drake; you are broadcasting your own ignorance to the world.
@Keir_Starmer@EmmanuelMacron@MarkJCarney 100,000 Palestinian deaths later and now you all decide to act.
You’re an absolute disgrace to humanity and all of you should be in prison!!
The genocide is in its final stage. Any remaining people in Gaza are either starving to death or being intensely bombed. An entire indigenous population exterminated right before our eyes and we did nothing. Nothing.
When someone feels entitled to ask any Palestinian to condemn the horrors and crimes of October 7—after decades of brutal occupation, dispossession, massacres after massacres, torture and humiliation—I stop taking them seriously. Moral authority doesn’t come from selective memory.
Also, Piers, if nothing else, out of humility and decorum—and given your country’s historic responsibility—some questions should not be asked.
