They are banking on the everyday person knowing absolutely nothing about DSD conditions.

In fact, most people think “intersex” is a singular diagnosis and use the word interchangeably with “hermaphrodite”

A. There is no such thing as hermaphroditism in humans. All people are male or female.
B. “Intersex” is an outdated colloquialism. It’s more a political identity than it is a medical diagnosis. It is an umbrella term that covers a tiny fraction of conditions referred to as “Differences in Sexual Development” (DSD)

Male development is dependent on the production of testosterone as produced by testes. Females exposed to T in utero that isint produced by their body don’t become men but their reproductive development is usually affected…but not to the point the become something other than female.

There is an increasing occurrence of poorer countries seeking out male athletes with DSDs such as alpha 5 reductase (also referred to as “penis at 12”) or conditions like PAIS (partial androgen insensitivity syndrome) these countries will list any ambiguous genitalia as female.

Imane Khelif is a man. You can tell he has gone through male development by looking at him.

Castor Semanya is also a man (another case of 5 alpha)

It’s ok to trust your eyes. Men look male. There is no DSD that results in a female with full male development.
