Pleased to announce we’ve been accepted into the NW U21 Development League, playing Sunday afternoons..

To enhance the squad, we’re holding open player trials over 2 evenings in July at @SimpsonFC_

⚪️🔵 | Full Time and a 3-0 win for Woolton on the road in @nwcfl 1st Division North against @ashtontownfc Tuesday night

Changes to our line up, with work and a few niggles catching up

Mark replaced Chris, Jacob and Danku either side of the returning Danny V and a welcome return to the starting line up for Jack Mc

A good start and a few half chances early doors, with Ashton growing in to the game requiring Charlie to make some important saves

Danku was causing plenty of problems down the wing resulting in Woolton taking the lead through Jack Mc, with a header from a Shea C FK to see us go in at HT 1-0 up

Second half saw Woolton gain control of the game, especially after Ashton had a player sent off for a poor challenge on Danku as he made his way in on goal

Wolfie then got on the act and continued his recent scoring spree when he took a FK out wide, with it missing everyone in the box and nestle in the corner of the net for 2-0

Great to see all the subs getting on, Dan H making his debut and a there was a short run out up top for Jenno at the end.

Adam K made a great impression getting on the end of a whipped in corner to score with his first touch of the game for a 3-0 win

A good result and performance from the lads and one that means we have secured 3rd place in the division, giving us a home game in the semi final on Sat 25th April, at Jericho Lane

🔵 | Full Time and a 3-1 win for Woolton in our final home league game in the @nwcfl 1st Division North against @AFCBlackpool

Yet again a day of all 4 seasons in one 90 minutes, weather wise, made for a difficult day for football (is there anything other?)

Reece replaced Sean and Crossy for Danny Ventre, with Harry coming in on the bench for the first time

An early goal by Matty Robbo after 4 mins, equalised straight away, only for Crossy to smash in a second on 10 mins that gave us the early lead

A Blackpool penalty fortunately sailed over the bar heading for the Mersey mid way meant we kept the lead at HT

Plenty of niggles throughout and strong challenges, in a good old game of football in second half, with half chances either end only for the Referee to surprise everyone with a Red card for Shea late on, after a challenge for the ball.
Soon after he gave a Blackpool player a Red as Jacob went through on goal, only to be brought down on the edge of the box (last man)

The resulting FK was despatched in to the Blackpool net like a rocket by Wolfie to give the lads a 3-1 win

A few handbags at the end saw the Ref give another Red card to the Blackpool keeper as everyone walked off

A great result for the lads 👏 one that means we have secured a playoff place 👏

2 goals in first 5 mins set up a good win for the lads and the all important 3 points

⚽️ Danny V on 2 mins, Lucas W on 5 minutes caught SG cold (and the camera man)

Game settled for a while until a skirmish in the dugout saw Gaz sent packing

Squires Gate got one back mid second half, header from a corner, only for Danny V to wrap it up on 83 mins following a fantastic run and cross by Joe H

Good solid performance from the lads, in what was a full on game
