Delighted to share that my peer-reviewed article, 'An Otaku with Chinese Characteristics?', is now out in Screen Bodies, published by @berghahnbooks. Many thanks to the brilliant editorial team and reviewers.https://t.co/XdYP42wXIx
@AugustaIvory @CHASE_DTP@UoLondon@PhDForum@PhDspeaks Yep, it's advertised towards the end of the summer term and you have to apply (I don't think everyone who applies gets it). But the Courtauld is also unique in that it has a relatively small permanent teaching staff and relies on PhDs for a significant portion of the teaching
@AugustaIvory @CHASE_DTP@UoLondon@PhDForum@PhDspeaks Yes, currently contracted/employed as a Teaching Assistant for BA1 and can apply annually for paid teaching gigs. Down side is that it takes up a huge amount of PhD time and you're still expected to finish PhD on schedule.
Join us for the launch of the 2021 issue of #immediations, The Courtauld’s annual peer-reviewed publication of #postgraduate#research.

@claracxw This. What I learned from my internship at an auction house, where I got to do some valuation work on Fontana, is that the process is based on 1 prev sale (subscription to Artnet database) 2 size and 3 whether in it's in red (in which case it'd sell for more).
Fantastic discussion by @ros_holmes and artist Miao Ying. Looking forward to having more enlightening conversations and delving deeper into the aesthetics & limitations of Chinternet & meme culture in my research. https://t.co/gX2Mfv9IfL
Great selection of new publications from @mitpress at their CAA 2021 virtual exhibition. Particularly excited about Lauren Fournier's book 'Autotheory as Feminist Practice in Art, Writing, and Criticism'.

@LuiseGuest Thanks, Luise! I really enjoyed your piece on Internet censorship and Stockholm Syndrome and would love to learn more about what you're working on.
Fascinating virtual performance piece by artist Ye Funa that explores the beautification app, Meitu, at the #MultimediaEncounters conference by @UCL_mal. Will be incorporating this into my research on Ye's practice re. mediated and embodied forms of self re-presentations.
The word "robot" premiered on stage in Prague 100 years ago this month. It was a critique of mechanization and the ways it can dehumanize people: https://t.co/kcxToWvjIb
@RicardaBeatrix@V_and_A Was fortunate enough to join a tour with Peter Ting and was blown away by the works as well as the stories. The paper sculpture was definitely the highlight.
Thanks very much to @CHASE_DTP#CHASEVE2020 for providing the platform for my first ever conference presentation. Very impressed by the huge range of fascinating projects and looking forward to following up with everyone I've spoken to.
