LEDGER SUPPLY CHAIN ATTACK REPORTEDLY EXTENDS TO EUROPE
@0xJohannes_ reports that a Ledger hardware wallet purchased just weeks ago from an official European reseller was found to contain an unauthorized spy implant.
The device contained suspicious internal wiring not found in genuine Ledger hardware, suggesting someone physically tampered with it before selling it.
The implant also appears to be an older design. Newer versions reportedly hide components behind the screen, making them harder to detect.
Interestingly, no funds were stolen from this particular device, raising questions about whether the implant malfunctioned or attackers were waiting to compromise more users.
With suspected cases now reported in Asia, South America, and Europe, concerns are growing about the geographic reach of the supply chain attack.
Ledgerβs software Genuine Check cannot detect unauthorized physical modifications if the original secure element remains intact.

π€ @XRPSEOUL 2026 Highlights | Panel
"Connecting Onchain Finance: From Infrastructure to Adoption"
Infrastructure leaders discuss how interoperability, account abstraction and privacy can connect onchain finance and drive adoption.
π£ Speakers:
β’ Moderator: Ruam Siratanapanta, Head of Digital Asset Business at SCBX
β’ Aniket Jindal (@aniket_jindal08), Founder at @Biconomy
β’ Adam Oozeer (@freeagentOO), Head of Growth at @axelar
β’ Taro Kimura (@ParallelGateway), Country Manager Japan at @midnightfdn
π Key Takeaways:
1οΈβ£ UX Must Become Invisible
The underlying technology is mostly ready, but the complexity is holding users back. For mainstream adoption, the industry needs a Web2-like "swipe" experience (chain abstraction) where users interact with apps seamlessly without needing to know which blockchain they are using.
2οΈβ£ Interoperability Requires Efficient Markets
Simply connecting chains is no longer enough. The focus must shift toward distribution, unified liquidity, and real utility, ensuring that assets can be safely and compliantly utilized across ecosystems.
3οΈβ£ Privacy is the Next Major Catalyst
Transparent blockchains prevent enterprise adoption. The biggest unlock for B2B transactions and institutional finance is providing Web2-level privacy on Web3 rails, ensuring sensitive transaction data remains private while still allowing for regulatory compliance.
π‘ The Takeaway
Onchain infrastructure is ready. Over the next 12β24 months, adoption will hinge on solving real-world customer problems. By combining chain abstraction, deep liquidity, and privacy, the industry is poised to seamlessly onboard retail and institutional users, unlocking trillions in tokenized assets.
