Those dont even matter dude Housing: median home was about 2.1 2.7x household income in 1960 1980. It is about 5x now. Under 40 price to-l income went from 2.4 in the late 1970s to 3.5 in 2024 At age 30 49% of non-college boomers owned a home vs 24% of non college millennials. College educated: 54% vs 38%
College: costs up 169% since 1980, pay for workers 22–27 up 19% Public college tuition took a minimum wage boomer ~l 1,410 hours. A millennial needed 3,400 hours, more than double.
Wages at 30, non-college millennials earned 12% less than boomers at the same age 23% less than the Silent Generation.
Labor supply foreign born share of the workforce was under 10% in the mid-1990s and is 19% now Boomers competed in a much tighter native labor market. 1965 80 immigration was a fraction of post-1990 levels.
Rent the share of renters paying over 30% of income went from 25% in 1970 to 50% in 2025 Boomers still bought houses at 2-3x income, paid for college with a summer job, and entered a labor market before mass low skill immigration before the post 1970 regulatory stack epa etc and before the post 9/11 surveillance state. It's not even close
If you count ac or modern "luxuries" as haveing it better than I guess but I'd rather have a world of expensive luxuries and cheap necessities like boomers had than the reverse which is what we have now cheap luxuries phones ac etc and expensive necessities like houseing and cars
@Stmckay04@liberscravola And I'm doing great I found bitcoin early I'm in the top 5 percent for my age group doesn't mean I can't understand how they are getting fucked
Ya boomers voted her in
A 2017 WBUR poll had : only 30% of Massachusetts millennials wanted her reelected, versus 51% of seniors.
Older voters do favor her more than younger ones. An ActiVote poll of Massachusetts likely voters just before the 2024 election had her at:
18–29: 54%
30–49: 63%
50–64: 59%
65+: 72%
I literally don't post bible versus unless I'm debating a christian and I'm not a Christian and I don't worship a jew so your a fucking retard and I'll be fine I'm in the top 5 percent of my generation doesn't mean I can't wish the worst for the generation that mongrilized a once great white nation before I was born
Boomers didn’t write the original Act. No shit Once they were the biggest voting bloc tho they kept the expanded version and grew it again 1972 passed a 20% hike and locked in automatic COLAs Medicare Part D in 2003 there are more examples all while lifetime taxes never caught the benefits. Knowing the start date isn’t research dipshit
Boomers wrote these policies and voted them in in mass for decades
If we just tweak the policy misses the point. The people who took the better deal set the rules Younger workers are paying more into a benefit they will not get
The Christian move is the other way around Parents lay up for their children. The generation that already had the best run at houses and stocks should bite the bullet, not hand the shortfall to the kids. Helping your own mom and dad is the command. Making the next generation cover a program you promised yourself is not
This week I’ve learned that attempting to discuss the legal and fiscal facts surrounding Social Security with many boomers is like trying to discuss gun control with leftists.
These people are so deeply programmed it’s as equally impressive as it is sad.
James dude the Bible says take care of your own mom and dad if they need it It does not say the government can tax young people to pay every retiree does it?
Jesus got mad at people who used religion as an excuse to skip helping their parents correct and Paul said kids should look after their own family, and that parents normally save for their kids, not the other way around.
Social Security is different. It takes money from workers and sends it to retires even if those retirees are not your parents and even if they have plenty Younger people are paying more into a program that will not pay them the same benefits.
That is a bad deal The generation getting the checks voted for bigger benefits more spending, and policies that made wages and housing harder for the people now paying the bill. They also lived through the best time to buy houses and stocks. Helping your own parents is Christian. Making the next generation pay extra for a benefit they will not get is not in any form christan
