Autistic people live so much of their life with their nervous system in overdrive. Itโs taken leaving education and settling into a predictable pattern for my body to settle. Now Iโve been in my job a year, I am happier and am actually finding joy in things I once loved again.
something i wish more people understood about autism is just how INTENSE and ALL-CONSUMING our internal worlds are. you think iโm intense on the outside???? this is with literally 99% filtered out, there is a whole universe in there
@mcfc_elias Well, you thought wrong. A (maladaptive) strive for perfection is more 'ocpd'. When you have ocd you get intrusive thoughts that are egodystonic, meaning they totally go AGAINST your moral beliefs. This is a good example of what ocd can look like
i missed out on teenage love. i missed out on attending high school as a girl. i missed out on being asked to prom, to being romanced during my formative years, to failing in my femininity early on when it was socially acceptable to do so. i'm homesick for a place i've never been
Common autistic special interests that arenโt spoken about enough: pop culture, music, psychology, sociology, animals (especially cats and horses), Barbie, The Sims, reading, Old Hollywood, eras in time, true crime, fashion, Eurovision, writing, K-drama, politics, makeup and art.
Heyy, I'm new on #arttwitter :). To kick off this account I decided to make a #artvsartist grid with some of my favorite pieces. Which one do you like the best?
