@JamesEBriggs The CT is going to reduce access into Ransom Place if DPW gets their way. Just to benefit commuters. Unbelievably this would be the second time commuters have been prioritized to our detriment. ☹️
@MrWildstyle The homes close to Fall Creek were shacks due to Fall Creek flooding but the ones closer to MLK were like the houses in Herron Morton. Big vernacular wood frame homes
@MrWildstyle I remember houses on Missouri from 12th to 16th along the Canal. My neighbor who is in her mid 90s and was a public health nurse told me she used to service residents living there.
@MrWildstyle No. Flanner House was west of Senate close to Missouri which was just east of the Canal. About where the Neuroscience building is now located. The 12th St bridge crossed the Canal from Fayette to Missouri Sts.
@MrWildstyle 15th St. was probably vacated when Flanner House was built. The area btween the Canal and Capitol was industrial, with a smattering of old homes. Think most people had moved in the 1940s to accommodate the WPA flood control projects. There were bridges at 12th St & at 9th St. 2/
@MrWildstyle There's been several deer sightings. If my memory serves me right the bridge ran behind a junkyard or something similar to 16th St across the canal and the train tracks. I don't remember a street per se. Fayette St. ended around 13th or 14th Sts. 1/
