American Hostage in Iran (2015-2023)
Upon Landing in Doha, Qatar, on the Flight From Tehran, Iran

“I can genuinely say for the first time in 8 years, I’m doing great,” says Babak Namazi, brother of Siamak, now freed from Iran. “I’ve dreamt of this moment for 8 years… I honestly can’t believe it’s here. I honestly can’t. I’ve embraced him, I’ve held him… It’s just not real.”
“Mom, we love you so much. And thank you. Thank you for taking care of your children.” Babak Namazi – brother of Siamak, just freed from Iran – pays emotional tribute to his mother Effie, who stayed in Iran until Siamak was freed, and her strength through the nearly 8 year ordeal
“Seeing that plane approach, I mean, my knees were shaking. I can’t describe it.” Siamak Namazi’s brother Babak describes the emotional moment he saw his brother finally returning to America, after nearly eight years in Iranian custody.
We are so happy for Morad, Emad and Siamak Namazi who brings up the cases of those left behind including Ahmadreza Djalali, on the very day of his release. Thank you so much for this statement.

WATCH: BROTHER OF RELEASED AMERICAN SPEAKS
"We've been apart for 8 years, we're grateful for this moment," says Babak Namazi, brother of the newly freed Siamak Namazi.
Siamak is "the real hero of the story, surviving 8 years of brutal treatment, but never, never losing hope."
The Levinson family said in a statement that they welcomed the news of the release of the Americans and were grateful for the new sanctions, "but make no mistake: Today's good news does not end our family's nightmare and ongoing pain."
We are extremely delighted now that the five hostages from Iran landed safely in United States and with their families. Welcome back home. We wish you all peace and happiness and hope for the release of all innocent hostages around the globe.

🧵From the family of Iran hostage Robert Levinson:
Today is a great day because American hostages unjustly held by the government of Iran have been returned to their families. This is cause for celebration for all Americans.
Today, five innocent Americans who were imprisoned in Iran are back on American soil and in the arms of their loved ones.
Welcome home.
I remain unflinching in my efforts to bring home every American held hostage or wrongfully detained.
I want to say welcome home my friend, but I know for you “home” was always Iran, and they took that away from you. I also know that they couldn’t take away your grace, your dignity, your generosity, and your sense of humor. I can’t wait to hug you, my brother.
GOOD NEWS: Morad is free!
The British father was wrongly imprisoned in #Evin in Iran for nearly 6 years.
We are relieved for his family who have been campaigning tirelessly for his release.
Thank you to ALL who took action to #FreeMorad
A courageous and selfless statement from Siamak Nazami, who brings up the cases of those left behind including Ahmadreza Djalali, on the very day of his release. Thank you so much @FreeTheNamazis for this amazing statement! #FreeDjalali
