This hasn't gotten enough attention, but you need to know. Everybody needs to know.
1/ It's about the massive coverup campaign underway to disguise the octopus-like Russian election interference operation being run on Trump's behalf.
Please read this whole thing.
I made this point w @AriMelber tonight am still brooding on it:
So Trump has confirmed in his own voice that he was not self-deluded about COVID. He knew the danger - and still opted to do nothing and instead belittle the risk in public.
The question that then follows ...
Any Dem who hand-wrings to the media about how violence will help Trump is him/herself helping Trump. You're feeding the storyline that violence is good for him, ie that voters will see him as "strong," and not as part of the problem, w/o doing a damn thing that's constructive.
@HeerJeet This reminds me of the outlandish claims just before the French Revolution about Marie-Antoinette, claims that came out into the open with the Affair of the Diamond Necklace. Also a country on the verge of blowing up, though in 1785 the crisis it was not yet fully upon them.
@djrothkopf If the last three and a half years has proven anything it’s that there is literally no limit to what the GOP can get away with. Before (Regan, Bush II) there was some shame, but now they can kill 300k Americans and retain a 40% approval from the electorate for a job well done.
If we actually had a president, If the GOP actually cared about governing, the Covid-19 explosion in the Sunbelt would lead to a course change. As it is, we're ruled by people who can't admit error and never learn. This is going to be apocalyptic.
Riccardo from @castfoundry has written a long post about the rotunda types cut by Nicolas Jenson (and others), with exquisite photographs. The post is almost divine! I think that you should read it, too. https://t.co/LazFBWALTM
