Life in the UK as a first-time mum is honestly one of the hardest things I've ever done.

No mum, no sisters, no aunties, no family dropping by to help.

It's just me and my husband, and he still has to go to work every day.

Some days are overwhelming.

Students and teachers were kidnapped in Ogbomosho. One of the teachers was beheaded on camera and the video circulated online. Other teachers and students are allegedly being tortured and abused with fire and canes, and their videos are also on the internet.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not said anything about it.

Kashim Shettima is posting about a ceremony involving Yakubu Gowon.

Godswill Akpabio is posting about his re-election.

The Presidency’s official page is posting about tax laws.

And APC is still conducting primary elections nationwide.

Sometimes it genuinely feels like the lives of ordinary Nigerians no longer move the people in power.

Children and teachers are in captivity, families are in pain, people are terrified, yet the country keeps moving like nothing happened.

Last night, heavy rain fell terribly. Snakes, deadly ants, scorpions all kinds of danger in that bush.
A little baby still being carried on the mother’s back is out there in the wilderness.

Yet, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has slept peacefully for the past six days.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and his children have also been sleeping comfortably since this tragedy began.

There is no better advice than letting your daughters or son watch you model what a good marriage looks like.

Let me tell you...

The first 7 years of your marriage is about the most hectic as a woman because that is the period you make babies...2 or 3 as you want. If you combine child bearing, raising them and work without structure, you will burn out. So what you need is structure...and once you have passed that phase where you don't have a toddler anymore...it becomes less physically tedious but more mentally 😊.

Try not to overdo anything, the house doesn't have to be sparkling clean, you don't have to wash every single day, structure cooking to one day, get a visiting cleaner and one who irons. Use the school bus service. Once they leave, if you're home go back to sleep. Choose weekends to take them to a relative so you can have time for internal and external body massage with Oga. Tell him to take them out on some weekends so you get a rejuvenating sleep.

Always set things the way you can have time to do the things you love ..read, watch movies, listen to music, write if you love to, go for walks...don't neglect you.

One thing that is common at my place of work is taking annual leave during school holiday periods. Most mothers always set it up that way so they can be home with the kids.

Can never be me 😏
My annual leave must fall during school section, I will take them to school then return home to roll on my bed while munching on anything I can find and scrolling through social media.

I will rather stay at work than spend one whole month at home at this their present age. SAHM are the real warriors fr.
