@RichardHanania That logic does not stand. Most pro life parents don't get the child tested in utero for down syndrome as it poses some risk to the child and there is no benefit. For your logic to hold pro life parents would have to be equally likely to get their children tested.
Hats off to Sasktel. They offered us a significant discount to get a direct internet connection for the church. This way we can have a dedicated network for streaming Masses.
A modest proposal: Spread the priesthood by eliminating clergy. ordain priests for 10 years. The celibacy question becomes immediately irrelevant (gender, too, one can hope). Some people who are very good at the role would be reappointed. https://t.co/yjSX35cgsy via @ncronline
@MtnSounder@WBrettWilson If social conservativism has no place within conservativism than I don't think you support conservativism I think you support liberalism with low taxes.
@jason_bungay@WBrettWilson So agreeing with what for all of human history except for the last five minutes was the understanding of marriage has nothing to do with being conservative?
10 pages down 5-8 to go not bad for a day's work. Gotta love when your job allows you to be spend hours on end reading Aquinas. Silly Grisez what were you thinking attacking Aquinas? #priestlife#dontmesswithAquinas
The Son of Man lays down His life as a ransom for many I cannot think of a more succinct expression of the essence of priestly life Yet we priests often fail to live up to this calling. Please pray for your priests that they may model their lives on Christ's radical self emptying
A lot of people say abortion is a settled issue in Canada Words like settled do not mesh well with a democracy Debate belongs to the very nature of democracy If we want a free society we ought to be somewhat allergic to the word settled. #UnPlanned
@Bugle_rank87 @patrickmadrid Of course priests are held to a higher standard. But point of the tweet was to illustrate that celibacy is not the cause of abuse.
@ur_spcialfriend @Kristan_Higgins still built as a gift to God, and those who would come after.
To state "that Jesus doesn't care about stain glass" is dismissive of the great gift the faithful gave when they built this wonder. Moreover, that statement is not Catholic in its sensibilities around Churches.
@ur_spcialfriend @Kristan_Higgins I am pretty sure Jesus cares about the countless souls drawn to worship God by witnessing such a beautiful wonder created to give Him praise. I am pretty sure Jesus cared about the generations of labourers who worked on a Church they knew they would not live to see completed yet
Please can the international media cover the intense suffering and killing of Christians in my country?
Please can celebrities have at least one vigil (like the one they had for those killed in the New Zealand mosque)?
Don’t Christians deserve vigils too?https://t.co/JgbLlADjnv
@LetItBeMeMyLord@FrMatthewLC Moreover passions, emotional drives, and experiences. This is not knowledge, but something someone undergoes. God is impassable. Due to the absolute nature of God in Himself He cannot undergo, as this would require something to act on him this would require God to be finite.
@LetItBeMeMyLord@FrMatthewLC Sin, and evil by their nature are a privation, meaning a lack of good where good ought to be. Knowledge of evil, as evil, is not properly speaking knowledge as it is a privation, or lack.
St. Joseph lived a life of humble obedience to the will of his Lord. In a culture marked by an obsession with personal desires, and immediate emotional satiation, St. Joseph stands as a power example of Christian duty, and is a beacon of the Gospel.
