Macklemore calls on more artists to stand up for Palestine as he announces his ‘Free Palestine’ tour:
“If these last couple of weeks have shown us anything, it's that something has shifted over the last three years. There has been a collective awakening around Palestinian liberation, the power of billionaires that try to censor that call, and what we expect from artists right now.
It's 2026. Being apolitical during a genocide doesn't work anymore. People are asking artists to show up, educate themselves and be in community. To use the stage for more than entertainment. To push back when the call for a Free Palestine is met with attempts to silence it.
What happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage. When the billionaire class can decide which voices are allowed on stage and which ones are too dangerous to hear, everyone should be paying attention.”
🇵🇸 🇹🇷 “ Today, Gaza is not only the world's largest graveyard for children. It is also the place with the highest rate of child amputations in the world. Gaza has become the most inhumane and shameful concentration camp of our time.
In Gaza alone, over the past 3 years, we have lost 74,000 of our brothers and sisters, most of them women and children. We lost them to what we regard as acts of state terror by Israel. The people of Gaza are still searching for their loved ones beneath the rubble. They are recovering the bodies of their spouses, their children, or parents. Innocent children who have lost their arms and legs in Israeli attacks are trying to return to school.
Meanwhile, the West Bank is witnessing the most severe period of what we regard as settler violence and terror. In Jerusalem, Muslims and Christians are being denied access to holy sites. There is an attempt to destroy UNRWA, which is our collective initiative.”
I hosted an event that raised a modest $3.5 BILLION in 90 minutes at the UN General Assembly in New York! 🤯
It will fund education in 90 lower-income countries so that no child is left behind. My mom was a teacher in rural Kenya so this historic “harambee is personal to me
Right now, your greatest responsibility is getting your life back on track and becoming the strongest, healthiest version of yourself. Stop wasting your energy worrying about who stays or who goes. This chapter isn’t about chasing people or trying to hold everything together. It’s about coming back to yourself. Heal your mind. Rebuild your discipline. Take care of your body. Protect your peace. Get serious about your goals. And reconnect with the person you were before you started losing pieces of yourself trying to be everything for everyone else. You don’t need to know who will be there at the end. Focus on becoming someone you’re proud to bring into the next chapter. The people who are meant to be part of your next chapter will meet you there. For now, your job is to become the person you want to be when you arrive.
You’re not obsessed with them. You’re obsessed with proving your worth to someone who made you question whether you had any. That’s why letting go feels so difficult. Somewhere along the way, it stopped being about wanting the person and became about wanting their validation, the apology, the recognition, the moment they finally realise what they lost. But you don’t need someone who hurt you to confirm your value. Maybe it isn’t love keeping you attached. Maybe it’s the part of you still trying to prove you were worth choosing. Let it go. Choose yourself.
Stop romanticizing the person who didn’t choose you. Let them go. Wish them well. Write a bad poem about them. Then take a deep breath, stand tall, and remember who you are. You are meant for more than spending your life longing for someone who chose to leave.
I need to eat pasta in Italy, croissants in Paris, sushi in Japan, tacos in Mexico, kimchi in South Korea, curry in India, pho in Vietnam, oxtail in Jamaica, fondue in Switzerland & fish and chips in the UK. That’s when I’ll know I’ve made it 😭
Unfortunately, sometimes you have to be a little mean to make people realize you're not someone to be played with. Not everyone respects kindness, but they will respect boundaries.
The moment I catch myself feeling sad, I remember I’m a single baddie with my own motion, no kids, and literally the kind of woman somebody is praying for. Like girl… stand up 😭
