Turtle time! A few reminders for nesting season:
Do not approach a turtle or hatchlings
Do not touch the nest cages
Pick up all of your trash
Do your best to support the sea turtles!
& as always, wash your hands, maintain social distancing, and have a safe, fun time at the park!
While most birds are motivated by food, the Pileated Woodpecker is driven by its unrelenting hatred of trees.
Well, not really. (Trees may think so!)

@FLDEPNews has taken many measures to continue providing resource recreation at our state parks, such as limiting operating hours and reducing visitor capacity. Unfortunately, this has not resulted in the reductions needed to best protect public health(2/3)
In order to limit gatherings on public beaches to less than 10, DEP will reduce the visitor capacity at State Parks with beaches and swimming areas beginning Thursday, March 19. We will continue to keep the public informed as the situation develops.
#flstateparks are OPEN for day use 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. effective immediately. All events, activities, special event reservations, pavilion rentals and camping reservations are canceled for the next 60 days. Mar 20, campgrounds and all overnight accommodations will be fully closed.
Currently, all Florida State Parks remain OPEN to the public. However, out of an abundance of caution, DEP has made the decision to cancel all events and activities at Florida State Parks. The department will provide updates when events and activities will resume.
