So... I’ve been making a Ben 10-style game for mobile 👀
Because haez developed galvan by haez. If you tried it out you'll know that low end PC's and mobile phones can't play the game. Got me pissed cuz I fell in both categories 🥲....>>>

There’s a particular reason loan companies in Nigeria are comfortable giving out millions of naira to people they’ve never met, and once you understand how their business model works, you’ll begin to see the entire lending industry differently.

Think about it. OPay and other loan companies are practically begging people to borrow money. Meanwhile, some Nigerians owe three or four different loan apps at the same time. How do these companies calculate their risks? What happens when someone collects the money and disappears? And who exactly is making all the money in this equation?

The more you think about it, the more you realise that some of the biggest businesses in the world are built around things most people barely understand. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes, and sometimes the most obvious explanation isn’t necessarily the whole story.

Anyway, have you noticed that people who wear glasses always seem to know exactly where their glasses are, until the moment they actually need them? You can spend ten minutes searching the entire house, checking under your pillow, looking inside the fridge, and accusing everybody around you of moving your things.

Only for you to discover that the glasses have been sitting on your head the entire time. 😭

I call it Omniverse: ZERO

Neither. Here’s what it actually says.

If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;

29 Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

1. Yesterday you said the father had to pay the rapist. You don't know what you're talking about.

2. Deut 22:28-29 doesn't say he rapes her. It says תָּפַשׂ to catch, handle. Just three verses earlier (Deut 22:25), when the Bible explicitly describes a man violently forcing a woman, it uses an entirely different Hebrew word: חָזַק (chazaq), meaning to overpower or force.

You have misrepresented the situation in verses 28-29 as rape. It is not rape.

3. The Scriptures are clear:
In Deuteronomy 22, the laws change based on the woman's marital status:
Deut 22:23-24 (Betrothed): If she is engaged and they are caught in the city (where a scream would be heard), both are executed for adultery/fornication.
Deut 22:25-27 (Betrothed): If she is engaged and he forces (chazaq) her in the country (where a scream wouldn't be heard), only the man dies. She is considered innocent.
Deut 22:28-29 (Unbetrothed): If she is not engaged, the death penalty is not on the table. If they are caught having sex (taphas), he must pay the standard bride price (50 shekels) to her father, marry her, and forfeit his right to ever divorce her.

It was a legal protection for the woman. In the ancient Near East, an unbetrothed woman who lost her virginity would be unmarriageable and face destitution. The law forced the man to take financial and social responsibility for her for the rest of her life, while paying her father the dowry he would have otherwise received.
