@Favwontmiss In the 1980s, my teacher told my mum I was "special". She thought it meant "unique". It took 20 more years to realise what she was trying to tell us.
Otherwise, it was "sensitive", "awkward", "crybaby", "difficult" or "you have the devil in you" (religious upbringing, you see!).
@NoNonsenseND Yes, I've only once hooked up outside a relationship and it was cold and mechanical and left me feeling very empty. In any case, I don't tend to find people attractive until after I've got to know them for a few months. I have to like the person to be interested in them that way.
@antico_org@cmkenney67@KeenanPeachy Forgive me, but if Helen's father was Zeus and Clytaemnestra's father was Tyndareus, doesn't that make them half-sisters (same mother, different father)?
@HelloDearVoid Presumably it comes from the fact that the opposite is "on purpose". Humans like patterns. People could've started saying "by purpose" instead and that would sound horrific! In any case, I'm English. I've never heard anyone here say anything other than "by accident".
@Gabbrielxzn I've always had this. I do am-dram and spent the last 11 months thinking I'd built a really close friendship, texting every day, sharing emotions and vulnerabilities. They were definitely my best friend. The play ended and I discovered I'm not a friend but a "drama friend" ๐ช
@Koba_the_great@jondelarroz Voyager could be hit and miss but when it hit, it was amazing. It posed so many moral questions without easy answers, and yes, Seven was awesome. I never understood the fuss about DS9. Like you say, a couple of good characters, but something was missing. It wasn't so memorable.
@PhilMitchell83 I would walk away into another room to deescalate. She would seek me out and throw a pint of water over me. If I made it to my car, she would follow me in hers. Then she would blame ME for it because I had escalated the situation by walking away instead of facing it ๐คท
@CQueenbeejdl@Be_like_legend She refused CBT, DBT, marriage counselling, CAT and made ZERO attempts to change. She could be lovely, an angel, and I miss that petson so much, but she would turn into a demon in a heartbeat. It's so damaging never knowing when the person you love is going to flip and hurt you.
@IonaItalia I always imagined them having a dead bedroom after the first few attempts. Charlotte tells Lizzie she's not "romantic" & Mr Collins is only marrying because Lady C told him to. I picture him in his nightshirt reading her Fordyce's Sermons every night instead. Poor Charlotte! ๐
