The shows wouldn't exist if they weren't, and you wouldn't get episodes like this or hooded justice if they weren't. Hell Tom King is a writer for this show.

These shows are continuations and telling new stories in new corners of the world and those characters lives. Saying they're not faithful, especially 3 ep in for this show, is a wild assessment.
