But the wave of ignorance coming from people who've developed long covid just goes to show how little people know about post-viral conditions, and chronic illnesses in general. Education could have saved them so much heartache. It's not too late, but we need mutual respect.
I don't wanna pile on that one long covid tweet because I'm sure I had shitty takes about my disabilities when I was 21 and not deeply in the community yet. But I will say I was gaslit about a connective tissue disorder since I was 5 or 6 and only just got a diagnosis at 29.
That's not to say they have it easy. But I've fought for 15 years to have my post-viral symptoms (from EBV) taken seriously and classified correctly, and it still hasn't happened. I'm actually hopeful that the recognition of long covid might actually help people like me.

I hadn't been seeing their tweets for a long time and didn't know anything about them doing any of this, but I did see their tweet about deactivating & immediately assumed that it was connected to them being terminal and maybe being near the end... So what the FUCK is this shit.
Nothing like finding out a dying disabled man you and everybody else were once mutuals with actually was almost definitely entirely fake and instead a stalker middle age woman being a creep and a con (while calling others fakers!!!)
