If the rumors are true Ill grade the Oilers day as Cossa 👍, Babcock 💩 (I woulda waited on Cassidy).
- move Nurse
- sign Murphy/Dickenson to 2 year deals
- find a top line 2 way wingers
- load up on college and euro prospects
- keep the powder (cap space) for deadline
🚀
Edmonton's desperation to go brand name, despite how broken down/rusted out, in what's become essentially a one-year McDavid window, is perfect.
It's been the Oilers' way since they won the 2015 draft lottery and hired Peter Chiarelli to celebrate it.
Perfect coda, no notes.
@JasonGregor Good article. My prios are:
1) find a defensive top 6F so they can put Nuge on 3rd line. Find the next Hyman who wins pucks and does the little things (like 92). 97/29 will make it a value contract
2) move Nurse or Wallman
3) give Parkatti 2m and a pick to find a goalie
Logan Stankoven, 23, and Jackson Blake, 22, will combine to take up $11.1 million against the salary cap for the next eight(!) years.
Whether you’re a contender or a rebuilder, this is the level of efficiency that you’re up against into the mid-point of the next decade.
The #Oilers have announced a number of hockey operations promotions including Michael Parkatti to Vice President, Analytics & Technology plus former @EdmOilKings President & GM Kirt Hill to Assistant GM, Player Procurement. https://t.co/DChRYuRdJQ
@Josephk90@KevinMcCurdy Getting it right is a real top 6F and a goalie. I think D is good enough to get them to the TDD (pending Nurse decision)
Arvidsson one could blame on fit or KK's usage. He had a good year in Boston.
The gap btw spending your money on Marner, Hart vs say Wallman, Mangiapange, Frederik and Jarry is why I think the Oilers can be right back in it next year.
Given Bowmans body of work so far I fail to see why they think hes the right guy to call the shots.
@GoilersGunners@KevinMcCurdy If wheelers an idiot, who do you suggest that has Oilers ranked highly?
Letting Holloway walk
The Jary/Kulak trade
Frederik contract
@KevinMcCurdy Definitely more to the Marner and Hart moves. I see no reason not to give up a Nick Roy calibre player and sit Marner in a room with 97/18 and shoot your shot. But also likely he wanted out of the Canadian spotlight
