This is the smartest counter I’ve seen to ai taking over jobs, in the short term.
Is the ((aggregate tokens cost to do what an employee does + plus fully encumbered developer and maintenance costs ) / (fully encumbered employee cost ) )<= productivity ?
If it takes 8 Claude agents, at $300 for tokens, per day, plus $200 per day in dev/maint , to do what an employee does per day, at a fully encumbered cost of $1200.
That’s 2600/1200. But then you need to factor in the productivity rate.
Is it more than 2.16 x productive ? Are there qualitative issues like morale, morality, whatever , that can’t be quantified, that need to go into the decision?
What is the going forward progression of burdened costs for the tokens ?
Curious what people think about this ?
Nick Emmanwori's mom Justina, who is Nigerian, does not yet understand the hype around the Super Bowl 😅
"Maybe this is something big that I don't know."
Her and the whole Emmanwori family are heading to San Francisco to watch Nick and the Seahawks.

It's a weird time. I am filled with wonder and also a profound sadness.
I spent a lot of time over the weekend writing code with Claude. And it was very clear that we will never ever write code by hand again. It doesn't make any sense to do so.
Something I was very good at is now free and abundant. I am happy...but disoriented.
At the same time, something I spent my early career building (social networks) was being created by lobster-agents. It's all a bit silly...but if you zoom out, it's kind of indistinguishable from humans on the larger internet.
So both the form and function of my early career are now produced by AI.
I am happy but also sad and confused.
If anything, this whole period is showing me what it is like to be human again.
Arsenal are in a strong position to win the Premier League and at least one more trophy this season. Yet a lot of Arsenal fans are not allowing themselves to enjoy the season or the process. Even worse, they are letting fans of clubs having miserable seasons dictate how they should feel.
A piece of advice: enjoy this moment. Football moves quickly, and we may not experience a season or period like this again anytime soon. The game is cyclical - this phase will eventually end, and another team will take over as the dominant force.
If you spend this incredible period moaning instead of taking in each moment, you will almost certainly regret it.
Senegal have been robbed. The officiating at this AFCON has been laughable. VAR only seems to work when Morocco shout for it. It’s rigged, it’s corrupt, and it’s wrong. Justice for Senegal.
I’m increasingly convinced that the willingness to change your mind is the ultimate sign of intelligence. The most impressive people I know change their minds often in response to new information. It’s like a software update. The goal isn't to be right. It's to find the truth.
