@memeslich Balancing on power lines, poorly playing the bass with my band and visiting my feral baby rats. I think at least 2 of these are misdemeanors.
@JohnnieOil@thchris1958@CanadianPolling We've only operated federally so far, but we've ran in ridings from different provinces. Ontario, Québec and Manitoba. We had planned to do it NS as well, but we had to pivot elsewhere. We need boots on the ground locally, so we focus where we already have folks.
@JohnnieOil@thchris1958@CanadianPolling I mean, we're getting things moving. People are getting more involved in politics which is better than status quo. Heck 81% turnout rate in Carleton ! We're not huge, we don't have much resources, but we play by the same rule book the main parties use. No fouls to be found here.
In a proportional system, no one needs to parachute into a safe riding to get into Parliament.
Every vote would count—no strongholds, no safe seats, no favours.
Let’s bring real change to our voting system with proportional representation.

If you're anti PR because a party could just control the list, I hope you're very against Poilievre simply being dropped in the safest riding in the county, multiple times zones away from his home
@thchris1958@JohnnieOil@CanadianPolling Yep, and that was mainly in response to the 2024 LaSalle-Emard-Verdun long ballot and trying to block such shenanigans in the future. They could do anything. Any action to reform anything would lead to inquiries about why any reform hasn't been achieved before...
@Highly_Cynical@gghamari@dckurek@PierrePoilievre@CPC_HQ You can freely browse that freely on https://t.co/I5qG1vBtLr and look up every single returning officer involved since my first candidacy in Mississauga Lakeshore in 2022 (wasn't 2021 after all, my bad).
@JohnnieOil@CanadianPolling Elections Canada has been allowing it year over year since 2021... No one wants to touch the electoral act because that proves reform is actually possible, and they will never go there.
@theepicmap Cont'd. It's wild and cold and made of solid rock. There is very little farmable soil up there, let alone the climate required to farm anything more than 2 months/year. You should look up how people HAVE to live in Fermont, QC. The whole city is encompassed in a fucking WALL.
@theepicmap I live in a part of eastern Quebec that used to be mostly unpopulated until gov pushed for eastern expansion and sent 1000s of (farm) labourers over here under grants of some sort. It costs a BUTTLOAD of money to build infrastructure where there was none beforehand. [1/2]
