Saturday Night Hockey in Edmonton was a masterclass of hockey from the Maple Leafs.
All four lines were clicking, Connor McDavid was stifled, and the collective anxiety of Leafs Nation was replaced by a rare sense of faith. Read my analysis of the 7-2 blowout win below:
Listen Leaf fans. I’m not saying you’re not the better team compared to the Flames. But isn’t it ironic how you mocked us and called us frauds even though you knew we were short manned?
Not so fun when it happens to you ?
Sergei Bobrovsky: "I play good. I played solid game. Yeah, he [Gridin] made a couple good shots & I could be positioning, be sharper, but I thought I played a good, solid game. So we had the chance to win &, yeah, we move on ..."

Auston Matthews on Easton Cowan taking the blame for the loss:
“We win as a team and lose as a team. It’s not on one individual guy. I took 2 penalties with less than 10 minutes to go when we’re trying to tie up the game.
“There’s a number of factors that go into losses and wins. We stick together as a team. It’s all 20 guys that were on the ice, and we’ve got to be better in different areas. But it’s definitely not on one guy.”

The selective positivity in this fan club is truly something. No one is ever optimistic about the things they should be but when there’s empirical evidence to prove something to be true, everyone wants to rally together to say the opposite 😭 Goodnight. You all irritate me
Every night it’s the same thing. The opposition commits many infractions that go uncalled including a blatant trip and board tonight. The leafs get penalties for everything. When do they EVER get a whistle like this?
