Submitting your horror film about rape and lack of bodily autonomy as a comedy is egregious. Especially when one of the biggest news stories right now is about how rape survivors never get justice. Reducing it to a comedy to have a better chance of winning is absolutely vile
“rape is something that lives, the fear of it lives in our body, and when stories like this come out and it’s really not picked up in a way that you hope that is picked up it makes me feel scared, it makes me feel anxious, it makes me feel so much rage” ❤️🩹
I think victims should use whatever wording they choose to emphasize the brutality of their experience without having to worry about their tone or phrasing when the general public refuses to understand the severity of rape as is.
Oh girl fuck you.... There's nothing I hate more than a male centered self-hating woman. I don't give a FUCK what the law says.... a good man would never agree to have sex w someone extremely inebriated. Let alone invite 50+ other men for "Free Pussy" You can go to hell w them
the cornell stuff really has me thinking. i know so so many women who have been raped. i don’t know a single woman who’s perpetrator got time for it. not one. rape is illegal on paper ONLY. functionally it’s treated at most, like an illegal lane change.
support victims who are angry, express pain thru rage, refuse to forgive, dont let it go. is too obvious ppl want victims to suffer silently/in isolation, and show « bravery » by being happy and bubbly instead. victims being open with « negative » emotions should b supported too.
yes the Cornell rape incident is horrible, but a more overlooked sinister detail is that they advertised it in a group chat and NONE of the guys reported it or stopped them. Men enable men.
Just a reminder that the only reason we know about Cornell is because the victim is brave enough to relive that nightmare, knowing she’ll likely have her reputation dragged through the mud. And the only reason we are not resting until Nolan Wells gets justice is his mother is brave enough to relive the horror of losing her son, have her motives questioned, her grieving dissected, in order to try to seek justice. The system failed both of these women. Imagine all the stories we don’t know.
Jack Haven from Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma and I Saw the TV Glow is desperately in need of work so they don't lose their SAG health insurance by the end of the month. spread the word so the right people can help them out!
