Bengaluru-Hosur-Salem-Karur line is one of toughtest terrain for @GMSRailway standard. It winds through elevation transition Bengaluru 900m altitude towards Cauvery plains on Karur 147m.

Temporary Beam Launching Completed for Major Bridge (RUB) No. 470 across NH-44

Bengaluru, 04 September 2026:
The Baiyappanahalli–Hosur (BYPL–HSRA) 48 km Doubling Track Project achieved a significant milestone with the successful launching of Temporary ISMB 600 beams for Major Bridge (RUB) No. 470 across NH-44 (Hosur Highway), near Chandapura.

The launching activity was carried out under a road traffic block during night hours, in coordination with the Traffic Police. It was commenced on 03 September 2026 and was successfully completed on 04 September 2026, with all necessary safety measures implemented throughout the activity.

The proposed 61.00 m wide Open Web Girder (OWG) bridge will eliminate the existing bottleneck at the railway crossing by providing a wider and safer passage for road traffic, thereby reducing congestion, improving traffic flow and enhancing road safety.

The successful launching marks another important milestone in the ongoing BYPL–HSRA(48km) Doubling Track Project.
