Hi #MeetTheDev, I'm Jérémie. Now Tech Designer @ Eidos MTL, previously Senior QA specialized in Game Engines, Network and Online! Almost 8 years in GameDev.
I love language exchange 🇯🇵🇺🇸🇫🇷 and preserving old tech and games. I might also be programming on them too.
@Spac3Gh0s7_@NVIDIAGeForce I can hear all the character artists cry from seeing some AI model trash months and years of their careful work to make characters look their best. 😭
I really decided to pursue Game Dev in high school when it helped through my darkest moment of my life. Pretty depressed. Playing games made me happy so I wanted to make people happy too.
@Hamb0o0 Despite playing military shooters often, I absolutely didn't get it when the prompt appeared. I aimed everywhere until I accidentally found out I had to aim at the guy to "de-escalate". 😓
@Rock_n_roler It shouldn't be part of your job. I'm still curious about how much control the engine and tools team have control over what's wrong with the engine considering Unity is closed source. Unreal's code is open so we can tweak as much as we want but how about Unity? 🤔
@Hamb0o0 I played the first week-end on Playstation and my progress carried over to week-end 2 on Steam.
It's probably something related to account linking, they all gotta be linked to the same Activision account.
How can you lose when you’ve got all the tools you need to succeed? #TeamGear takes the deserted island Splatfest with a 25p win!
Big thanks to everyone who played, and we’ll see you at the next Splatfest!
@LeHambo I was skeptical at first.
Then I played it and realized that no other space sim does it at the same detail level as they do. It's completely bonkers. The budget is slightly more justified but not completely.
@LeHambo Gonna wait and see the specs of the 4070, if there are any. Seeing how games still runs fine on my trusty 2060, I see no reason to shell over 1k$ for a GPU when it'll probably never show on game specs until the next GPU gen comes over.
@LeHambo I used to play slower, heavier kits in MW2019 and those twitchy players weren't much of an issue. Really had to play the loadout right obviously.
@LeHambo @milliees26 Having barriers when they begin to interact is still important. Either the cage, through some kind of bars. Don't forget to create the kitty safe zone. They shouldn't live unrestricted together at first.
@LeHambo MW2019 tend to be slower and lower TTK, I love it. It feels so much more grounded than CW which I've absolutely hated. IW also seems to do their research about weapons and tech much more seriously.
I skipped Vanguard 'cause of CW but knowing I loved MW2019, I am hype for MWII.
My biggest issue with MW2019's customization is that the receiver visual was per Weapon Blueprint and it's possible that MWII actually fixed this now that the receiver is another attachment?
Truly and fully customizable if that's true!
@LeHambo But I have to be honest, I'm now cautious about working on franchises that I like ever since that one project whose I played since High School. Genres that I love is fine though.
@LeHambo When working on a game, I am interested on the tech that it brings so it could be something I wouldn't play on my spare time and I'd still like to work on it and give it my 100%. Of course, being comfy with the people in the team is important too.
