#sapsFS On Monday 29/09, the Mangaung Metro District #YouthCrimePrevention structure led by District Chairperson Ms Precious Makhalima, District PRO Mr Selaotswe Seitshiro along with the #SAPS District Youth Crime Prevention Coordinator Const Thato Mothamane participated in a #CrimeAwareness campaign during Radio Motheo FM’s Streetwise Youth – Re Ditshola Difisa Show.

During the session, the team highlighted the critical role of Youth Crime Prevention Desk as the SAPS initiative dedicated to guiding young people, inspiring positive choices, and creating opportunities that divert them from crime. They addressed key challenges facing youth in Mangaung Metro, including substance abuse, gangsterism, unemployment and limited access to constructive recreational and developmental activities. The team strongly encouraged the youth to take responsibility for their future, make positive decisions, and embrace the opportunities available to grow and thrive.

The campaign also outlined the measures in place to support young people, including school and community awareness campaigns, mentorship programmes, and #SpiritualCrimePrevention initiatives. By empowering youth with guidance, support, and inspiration. The session reinforced the importance of building resilience, discipline, and hope in our communities. The engagement was highly impactful, inspiring young listeners to envision a brighter future and effectively strengthening SAPS’ presence, visibility, and relationship with the community. #YouthEmpowerment ME
