Operation Amistad: Indian Army Medical Team Treats Over 800 Patients in Earthquake-Hit Venezuela
The Indian Army medical contingent deployed to Venezuela under Operation Amistad has continued to provide critical healthcare support in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck the country last week.
As on 02 July, the team from 60 Para Field Hospital has treated 815 casualties, reflecting the sustained demand for medical assistance in the affected areas. Twenty patients are currently admitted in the hospital for further treatment and observation.
Beyond emergency trauma care, the contingent has rendered a range of specialised medical services, including 233 dental consultations, 1836 laboratory investigations and 253 X-ray examinations.
The team has also carried out about 65 surgeries, providing advanced medical care to those severely affected by the disaster.
Dispatched by India as part of its humanitarian assistance and disaster relief efforts, the Indian Army medical contingent continues to work closely with local authorities to deliver timely and comprehensive healthcare support to communities impacted by the earthquake.
