Some big news for me - I’ve joined the @AnalyticsUtd_ team to do all things data for the 24/25 season. Lots of plans for the upcoming season - hope to see you all there!
Chuffed to share that @ATopLad & @futpsyche will be joining the Analytics United team for the 24-25 season.
What will they be working on? More than covering for Cal when he's on holiday, I promise. But here's our first pod together in those circumstances:

Accessing data just got harder. If you need stats-backed insight or broadcast-ready viz, @AnalyticsUtd_ can help.
We’ve worked with @ITVSport, @BarclaysWSL & @WestHam to power award-winning coverage. Let’s take the next step together.

@markpougatch & @IanWright0 take a closer look at the Albania side to play England at Wembley
I've done a couple of podcasts with a West Ham focus in the last couple of days and I really benefit from chatting to (and listening to) these two in forming my ideas.
A “good” mid-block is harder to implement than a high press or low-block.

Would say that we're generating a lot of the right situations but not yet getting the right outcomes. Examples below.
Bit of improvement in sharpness, anticipation, and awareness in the final third, and we could find ourselves in a good place.
Running a new match preview series on YouTube covering the key tactics and data points ahead of each Premier League game. Let us know what you think!

Worth noting that Bournemouth are one of the higher pressing teams across the PL too, so tonight was a good test for our deeper build up, and I think we passed that test on first watch. Really helps that Mavro/Kilman/Todibo can all find passes into midfield too.
2nd half went very flat, but there were lots of positives in the 1st half that indicate the team is progressing.
Looked comfortable in build-up with Alvarez and JWP in the pivot, and it resulted in some good moments where we progressed into Summerville/Bowen.
'One thing that is non-negotiable in an Iraola team is a willingness to get after the ball, making intense efforts to win it back as quickly as possible.'

Latest pod on Max Kilman possibly being the greatest to ever do it out now.
Talked through a system tailored to Souček's strengths being an excellent Plan B in development, general improvements in midfield, gamechangers from the bench and more...

Craig Dawson proved his last club's fans wrong with his performances at West Ham. Is Max Kilman doing the same after a stunning opening couple of weeks?

We're at home to AFC Bournemouth in the @Carabao_Cup on Wednesday, so of course we've put together a 116-page Official Programme!

Big fan of Emery and think second striker dropping whilst the left winger drifts in makes Watkins & Bailey difficult to control for any defence. Will be interesting to see how McGinn performs in that advanced role next to Watkins and to see how JL counters.https://t.co/jj4xUdbEwI

Sometimes 2CBs+2DMs, but in last few minutes it is 2CBs+Mazraoui+Casemiro to create the diamond to stabilise the possession, which allows Mainoo to step up.
👍 for Earthy today. Technical and smart, not sure we’ve produced a player like him before. Bernardo Silva-esque in his ability to be useful in possession across all thirds of the pitch. The type of player we need centrally in matches where expect to have a lot of the ball.
