TLDR Futurasound's back full-time, had a good reason for the erratic schedule, back to regular posts 3/4 times a month every Monday, only now sometimes there'll be music and goofball/experimental vids as well as longer or bigger budget ones. Oh damn, then there's this...
they're both sent in to find you no matter what, right? I can't believe I never noticed the parallels before. I'm replaying MGS currently, it's very fun
When XOF comes for you in MGSV, it actually mirrors when the Ocelot unit first hunts Snake in MGS3. If you hide under the bed, the effect is almost identical, with them saying “move!” etc (not my thumbnail)
I'm rereading 'Heart of Darkness' for an upcoming video. This "IAA" organization seems important to the background of MGSV's Africa section https://t.co/L8MtiLDCpZ
Decided to replay MGS2 to double check my understanding of the game. In particular, I’m paying careful attention to its explanation of the Shadow Moses Incident, relative to Solidus and Ocelot
Himeji Castle reminds me a lot of Outer Heaven! Having recently replayed METAL GEAR (1987), I came across this: “The castle boasts a unique defensive system….[involving] a perplexing maze of paths…that go back on themselves.” Trav. Guide to Cursed & Creepy Destinations p.38)
From "Witchcraft in Early North America" by Alison Games "West-Central Africans [once] believed the forest to be a sacred space, where they buried the dead and where spirits might inhabit rocks or trees"
Maybe ‘Ditadi Abandoned Village’ is a reference to 'Matadi', this place along the Angola-Zaire Border Region. What do you think, Boss? https://t.co/CRehpNv3Lt
Restarted Death Stranding: Director’s Cut today, and it feels like coming home. I can finally get through the section with ‘Bones’ without ugly crying!
Still trying to unpack how Silent Hill: The Short Message fits into the Konami/Kojima drama. That aside, it’s quite decent, Boss! Worth playing, if a tad derivative of Life is Strange, P.T., & Observer
I’ve started ‘Silent Hill: The Short Message’ and I’m kinda at a loss for words. I’ll have to play the whole thing before I’m prepared to say much. But it’s better than the SH2 remake looks, that’s for sure
Back to work today. Does this remind you of Skull Face? It’s concept art from ‘Stargate’. My next video will explore the connections between the film and Kojima’s oeuvre in greater detail
