Every child deserves a whole body for a whole life. Save the world by saving its future. End infant circumcision. Currently writing the book, "Future Intact."
@TiffaniMarie483@orchardmama17 You'd be surprised what you can know. Can you know whether or not you are dreaming? Try this: Pinch your nose with your fingers and try to breathe through your nose. Can you still breathe? If so, you are still asleep in your bed. If not, then likely not. So, he can test reality.
After doing my research I decided that the benefits of circumcision were worth the risk for my son. I didn’t come to the decision lightly and I did question it. It probably helps that I worked in the maternity unit for quite some time and assisted in hundreds of circumcisions, it took a minute tops and the crying was solved by a dum dum lollipop with no further complications. The most traumatic part for the baby is restraining their hands and feet.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, there is "good evidence" that neonatal circumcision (which is often done without analgesia) leads to a stronger pain response to subsequent vaccination.
Yet another reason why the practice should be abandoned.

@Kylepaxoll@FutureIntact That study was sufficient for the American Academy of Pediatrics to conclude in its 2012 report that there was "good evidence" that neonatal circumcision led to stronger pain response to subsequent vaccination.
Every single day I mourn the sexual loss I experience from being subjected to the atrocity of infant foreskin amputation. Every sexual experience I have is tainted and radically diminished and it's so in my face and palpable.
I mourn the person I could have been if I hadn't been subjected to extreme genital torture that permanently changed my psychology and neurological anatomy. For my entire life, my nervous system has been in a constant state of fight or flight. I'm not sure I've ever really experienced a peaceful, at ease state except with the use of drugs.
I can't ever move on from this because of how deeply imprinted it is in my physical body. I feel like this mutilation defines me.
@bdmarotta@HannahWardEdu Montessori visited her son constantly. Her maternity was only hidden from public to avoid the scandal of a child out of wedlock. Her son became her greatest advocate and took over for her after her passing.
@jess_ann_pin You distance yourself quite clearly from the issue, wanting to give "advice" rather than become involved. That itself is a shame, but then you start categorical name-calling. So, your hostility is transparent for all to see. Consider reevaluating how your interests align.
there would be profound social upheaval if society acknowledged that we are living in nation of wounded men. The denial of harm is the default position because the alternative is horrifying and disturbing.
The fable of the Fox and the Tail applies not just to the body (in the form of the foreskin) but also the mind. People in circumcised cultures, having lost their ability to think, look at others who think and wonder, "Why are you thinking?? Don't you see it's useless?"
@Atavisionary I think it tests more than morality. It tests consciousness itself, how much people are aware of their own thoughts, how they respond to possessing thoughts of their own, and how aware they are of others possessing minds of their own.
