@RsStrath Although he’s only a Saint within the Ethiopian Orthodox tradition I believe.. apocryphal texts from the 6th and later centuries say he repented the crucifixion and converted.

Why bring a Bill forward only to say, “we can fix or add later”? Legislation should be robust from outset. Amendments should refine it, not require major rewrites after key stages. You’re asking people to vote for something on the promise it might be fixed later. Utter stupidity.

@christianorguk This has implications for Confession and reconciliation, for deliverance ministries, for prayer said for individuals and groups. It risks outlawing a large tranche of Christian belief and practice. But most MLAs would not understand that.

@christianorguk The central mark of the Christian life is repentance of sin, new creation via a Spirit-filled life conformed to Christ, not man. We are called to be better than we were, following His teachings. Transformation is key. I fear this bill may well outlaw that facet of Christian life.

@MarkElliottSmi1 There is a real danger that, if these cardinals get the autonomy they seek, the Title of One, Holy, Roman, Catholic and Apostolic Church may fall. The Church may no longer be either One or Catholic; it’s arguable if it’s holy right now. It must retain its Apostolic lineage.

GOD MAY BE CALLING YOU.

And you may have been ignoring Him.

•Maybe you’ve thought about becoming a priest for years or were a Priest but left Holy Orders to marry.

Maybe you’ve served in another church.

Maybe you’ve walked away from ministry.

Maybe you’re married.

Maybe you’re older than you think a seminarian is “supposed” to be.

Maybe you’ve spent years working, raising a family, burying loved ones, serving your community and somewhere along the way, the thought keeps returning:

“What if God is calling me to the priesthood?”

Don’t dismiss it.

The Fratelli Della Croce and the English Catholic Church are seeking men who believe that the Catholic priesthood is not a career, a platform, or a title, but a sacred vocation to serve Christ and His people.

We are looking for men who are willing to pray, study, sacrifice, and serve.

Men from different backgrounds.

Men who have experienced the traditional Catholic faith.

Men who have come from other Christian traditions.

Men who have spent years away from the Church.

Men who have wondered whether there is still a place for them in Catholic ministry.

There may be.

The ECC is an Old Roman Catholic jurisdiction committed to the ancient Catholic Faith, the historic episcopate, sacramental worship, sound doctrine, and the English language as our common ecclesial tongue.

We are not looking for men who simply want to become clergy.

We are looking for men who believe they have been called to become priests.

If that thought has been following you for years, perhaps it is time to stop running from it.

Pray. Discern. Ask.

And if you believe God may be calling you, contact the English Catholic Church and Communion.

The Church needs faithful priests.

Perhaps God is calling you to be one of them.
