Imagine earning ₦640,000 monthly, only to discover that after all your expenses, your balance is either minus ₦10,000 or a take-home of ₦5,000! 😂

That was my reality!

I have never really been the saving-money type. My wife is the disciplined saver in the family. 😂❤️

And please, don't misunderstand me. Saving money is very good. Very, very good!

But I developed another strategy.

Since I love to spend money, I decided I must continually increase my capacity to EARN MORE MONEY!

I needed to create additional streams of income and improve my cash flow.

Back in my banking days, whenever a particular car was hungry me to buy 😂, I wouldn't just sit down and calculate how many years I needed to save from my salary.

I would activate my creative skills!

I would look for graphic design jobs, especially annual reports, corporate publications and branding projects. Those jobs paid good money!

I would execute the projects, collect my money and take care of my expenses without depending entirely on my salary.

Here is my point:

There are two powerful ways to improve your financial situation.

You can reduce your expenses, and you can increase your earning capacity.

Better still, DO BOTH!

Learn a skill. Improve your existing skills. Create value. Solve problems. Build additional streams of income.

Sometimes, the solution is not just to spend less.

It is to develop the capacity to earn more!

Your salary may be fixed, but your earning potential doesn't have to be.

And please, when the extra money starts coming, remember to save and invest some of it. Don't be like me in those days! 😂😂😂❤️🙏🏿
