@markessien Is it possible that Ngr is as populous as it is(maybe less than reported) cos it occupies the lower area of the Niger river basin(the Benue being its most significant tributary) and so had more settlers than it's neighbors, including the Congo(larger basin but with thick forests)

@Nayess2012 @SheunAdeola Language is fluid and dynamic. It is often an expression of one's culture. Extended family relationships in Nigeria are often closer than the adopted word 'cousin' implies. I do not use 'cousin-brother' etc. But I wholeheartedly support the cultural sentiment behind it's usage.
