Japan is nothing like the west. Our country isn’t Christian, Islamic, or Jewish, and our culture has been diverse - even being tolerant towards LGBTQ. It’s reflected in our history, comics, anime, TV shows, and such. We have a partnership system for them that is marriage to them.

@yo_samuteki But I think there are different levels of vulnerability people are comfortable being when in a relationship. I myself am always super super open with my feelings but at the same time it can be tough to always expect the same level from your partner if its not natural for them
