Sandwich Tern r-N57 at Meikle Craigs, Troon on 13 August. Ringed in Senegal in March 2023, sightings since then in the Netherlands, northern France and the Bann estuary
Russian-ringed Black-headed Gull at Strathclyde Park - ringed as a chick in June 2015 in Novgorod oblast, looks like the first Russian-ringed BHG to be recorded in Scotland.
Trying to get my eye in on Caspian Gull on recent trips to England, and would welcome views on this bird (at Titchwell yesterday). I'm thinking white head and underparts, bill and head shape, eye position, lengthy structure all suggest yes, but would be grateful for opinions.
Enjoyable ring-reading visit to Inner Farne. This Arctic Tern was ringed there as a chick in July 2013 and was one of four I managed to read. Pity you only get an hour on the island though.
Moult migrant Greylag at Hogganfield. I last saw white 6ZF at Strathclyde Loch in 2020. It looks like this is the first report away from Slimbridge since then, so it must be a failed or non-breeder this year. Unusual for these birds to switch moult location. @KaneBrides
